PURPOSE OF THE GOVERNING BOARD

 

Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction

Holding the Head Teacher to account for the educational performance of the school, its pupils, and the performance management of staff

Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent

The Governing Body of Weoley Castle Nursery School recognises and values the contribution made by all members of the Nursery and wider community to the range of services and quality of the care, education we aim to provide.

We are committed to working together in a spirit of openness, trust and respect to include everyone who wants to be involved in the work of the Nursery.

INSTRUMENT OF GOVERNANCE

 

This instrument of Government came into effect on the 4th February 2021; made by order of Birmingham Local Authority Membership of the Full Governing Body shall consist of the following:

1 LA Governor

6 Co-Opted Governors

2 parent Governors

1 Staff Governor

1 Head Teacher Governor (unless the Head Teacher resigns the office of Governor)
